I haven't checked in with youtube in a very long time and I realize that was a mistake. It is clear that a good number of people are not aware that this is part of a full length documentary. It was a no budget/underground film but it has played at many festivals around the world.

Anyway, Reverend Leyba does what he does for a lot of reasons. I would not pretend to speak for him. (Check out his site by clicking on any one of the images above.) There is a whole philosophy behind the Church of Satan, of which I am not a member, but my research proved to me that learning this point of view has a great deal of value. Anton LaVey wrote some very interesting books.
It is easy to say that this guy is just following a religion. Well, no, he isn't, because these are HIS rituals. So he's not blindly following any set path. In fact, he has since moved further along his own path and founded the Coyotel Church. Again, I don't speak for him...I'm just glad he and people like him do speak...and loudly. In my opinion there is a great need for fringe people to balance out the powers that be. We are living in scary times. (How exactly is it possible that we are in a war, blowing up a country that DIDN'T attack us? And why aren't there massive protests about this?)
In my opinion it is because something has happened such that dissenting views are dismissed and ridiculed much in the way many of the responses to the UNSPEAKBLE youtube clips sometimes are. (And while admittedly the clips might be harder to grasp out of context, the clever quips are in line with mainstream reviews written by people that weren't willing to open their minds a drop outside their comfort level.)
Anyhow, I want to make sure we are all on the same page. I myself do not own a television. (Yes, I'm serious.) But I see commercials and advertisements everywhere I look. Everyday. The ads sell sex, they sell ideas about the body. Your body has been stolen from you. It has been repackaged back in the form of some product. I do believe this, and it is one of the main themes of UNSPEAKABLE. If you don't agree that's fine, but I ask you - why we are we so comfortable with all kinds of naked bodies if they are holding a beer, but the minute someone reacts to the insanity of the world physically, passionately, with their body as STATEMENT....why do we, as a society, so vehemently resist?
That’s a better gist of what goes on in the film...get a copy of UNSPEAKABLE and watch it. If you don't want to buy it, I will gladly send a free copy to your local video store as long as they agree in advance to carry this film.
